December 2nd

I didnt realise how long it had been since I had posted on here.

I have just uploaded my latest finishes on my 2008 finishes album for those that want to see them. I am hoping to get 3 more ornaments stitched up this week off the sanman originals forum.

I hope that everyone is keeping well and warm in this cold snap that we are having especially in the UK right now.

Take care and happy stitching

project SAL week 3

Well after last weeks fiasco of Ouroborus I picked up my Butternut road project, put in about a dozen stitches and put it back down again I just coudn't get on with it. So while i found out Butternut Road i came across my CeWeC mother and baby project that i started quite a while ago. She is half finished and i decided to work on her for a little bit. I will post a picture of her tomorrow.

I also stitched a bookmark from Artecy which i really enjoyed stitching, it was for the finish weekend sal with fatema. All i have to do now is back it with some card to cover the back and laminate it for my friend Sarah for a belated birthday present which i can give to her in person next Thursday as she is coming to visit me again

new technique finish and SAL week 2

this weekend is to be a new tenchnique finish for Fatema and myself. I started to stitch a bookmark from the Artcey website called lady sillhoutte. All the stitching is done i just need to actually finish it off as a bookmark.

Now my 3 daughters have seen the stitching they both want a bookmark too, luckily 2 of them have birthdays coming up so I will stitch them for then.

My SAL week last week wasn't too good as I was nearing finishing the first page when i found a big mistake on the border. Now to work out whether to frog the whole border OR to doctor the border so that it fits so I put Ouroborus away after 3 days of working on him but at least i made some progress which I am pleased about.

Starting from today I should be working on the next weeks SAL which is going to have to be split between the number 5 project that my eldest daughter picked out for me and the beading SAL on StitchersHeaven yahoo group and somewhere along the way i have the Summer SAL to do on my yahoo group.

Home life for the week started off quite exciting but sadly went downhill rapidly on Friday, but thats ok i can pick myself up, dust myself off and start again with it all.

The kids have had quite a nice week at home, we have actually had some sun and hot sticky weather. They have been able to have the pool up outside for a few days and have also managed to sleep outside in the tent though I think tonight will be the last night they do that as i think the weather is on the change again.

I am going now to sort out the Summer SAL i think as one member on the group has already finished hers and it looks really nice so i want one too now lol.

Happy stitching everyone

new photos

I have just added new photos to my albums, especially the progress on my SAL's. I haven't managed to get alot done on Royal Holiday but Blue Moon Faery got quite a bit done I just didn't reach my goal but that is ok i can handle that.

I also got 2 small finishes done yesterday in my 2008 album for those that want to see them.

Now i am going to work on my big purple dragon Ouroborus. I will post up a new photo of him at the end of the week.

Happy stitching

school summer holidays

Well yesterday afternoon the kids finished school for just over 6 weeks.

The day started off good, we took our eldest daughter out of town for some shopping and lunch got back home in time for getting the 2 youngest who finished school at 2pm instead of 3.30pm.

From there on things went a little downhill. I had promised Gem she could have her ears pierced as a belated birthday present. So we took her down into town for that. Well considering the person who was doing the piercing was qualified she made a right hash of piercing the first one. it only went in half way so they had to re-pierce it which made gem not want to have the 2nd one done. Eventually she got it done but she didn't like us very much. Chris also wanted his done, he sat down and all he said was 'ow' LOL he then came out and said that hurts now can i take the ear-ring out lol. We got a 15% off voucher for our next purchase in that shop, not sure if that was to keep the peace for what happened to gem or what but with an 18th birthday coming up i might just use it in there!

When we got back from taking my eldest to work I came home to a phone call from the Drs surgery asking me to have a blood test repeated as the blood count came back showing I am anaemic so we will see what happens after the repeated test.

Today has been a quiet slow day. I am having a pj day. Have done a tiny little bit of stitching on RH and I mean a tiny little bit, finished reading a book and finally caught up on my emails. I think i will now go and print out the summer chart for the SAL on my group. I also need to do some more on RH for my UFO SAL weekend with Fatema. Have a good weekend everyone

SAL update - no pic ..........

As yet though, that will come later on.

My goal for this week was to try and get page 1 finished of Mystic Stitch Blue Moon Faery. I have 2029 stitches to get the first page completed. There is now a bit of shape coming on it, i can see where the wing is on the fairy.

Will upload a pic later on

What a morning!!!

All start off ok, my friends 2 boys were dropped off fo rme to look after till their mum got home from working the night shift. My lot started playing up - which is fine i can handle that but all went pear shaped when we left to take sheba (dog) to the vets.

We arrived after sheba howled, cried and barked all the way to the vets. There was another dog just coing out of the vets so dave decided to go on the road side to take her in. Well Sheba thought better of it and tripped dave over. He has made an awful mess of his right eye and cheek bone. The vets helped clean him up and calm him down as he was very shocked.

I phoned the Drs to let them know we were going up and we might be late for the surgery. They said not to worry they would let the Dr know. Anyway he has been checked out, he has a HUGE black eye on his upper eyelid a laceration just above his eyebrow, a graze and a cut down his cheek. Poor guy is a right mess and sheba feels so sorry for herself for tripping him up!

Oh and sheba is back on anti-biotics for the cyst she has on the back of her neck, still not sure if she will be operated on to remove it.

I also saw the Dr while i was there. just for a review on my medications I am on and to get my finger checked out. My index finger on my left hand has been hurting for the last 2 weeks, its stiff and swollen. The Dr has ordered blood tests to be done to see if i have arthritis she doesnt think its too bad but we will know more next week.

Update on Dave's E.E.G also. His first one is on Thursday at 1.15 so I won't be able to go with him because I have to pick up the kids from school. Hope he gets on well and comes home in one piece.

I will update my stitching later on or tomorrow as I started the SAL with Fatema yesterday, i worked on my mystic stitch for the first time in a long time

scary news!

Yesterday saw us going to the Neurology department for DH's routine check up at the hospital. We were to see a new Dr as his original one is/was retiring.

The Dr greeted us in a lovely manner and started to ask questions about DH's epilepsy history starting from when he was 6 weeks old.

We went through that, he asked me lots of questions on how DH reacts while having aura's and seizures which I answered each and every one.

He checked all of Daves reflexes in his knees, elbows etc which were as far as i know of normal.

Then the Dr starts mentioning more tests being done, more E.E.G.s a normal one, a sleep deprived one and then a long one where DH will have to be admited to hospital, taken off his medication to see if they can induce a seizure in a controlled manner to see exactly what part of the brain has the seizure activity in it. THEN he mentions having surgery to remove the damaged part of his brain that might stop the seizures. Talk about knocking the wind out of our sails! Once the news sunk in I cried, Dh comfotrted me which made me feel quite guilty as he is the person that will be going through with it. Once I had cried we got to thinking that it will be a positive thing, he may be seizure free, go back to work, drive a car and lead a completly normal life which is great news. All we have to do now is wait for the tests and the results and then I will update about those then.

Sorry its such a long post this time, and if you managed to make it to the end thank you!

got a finish at long last!!

I have finally got around to stitching a project. I was asked to join a SAL on Fatema and Jean's group for mystical/ythical and I had started PR Fairy Celebration I freebie on the 2th. Well i got her finished 2 days ago which i was very pleased to get done.

On the home front, things are still looking downwards. Chris rammed the brush handle into the rabbit hutch and put 2 holes into it, lucky for us Dave is pretty good with his hands and can just about repair the hutch.

Then today our Alsatian - sheba - has had to be taken to the vets to get a sore spot checked out as it is weeping. She had an injection and is on antibiotics for a week. She has to go back next week for a re-check and it it hasn't got any better then the vet will operate on her and take off whatever it is. We are a little concerned though as either her Dad or brother has had or got skin cancer. The Vet is aware of this and will probably do a biopsy of it just to check to make sure it isn't cancer.

I have also had my blood test results back from the recurring miscarriage clinic and all is ok. I just need to go on aspirin when/if i find out I am pregnant again. So i guess that is good news amongst the bad. On the other good news is that i was told by my MIL that I am now a great aunty and Dave a great Uncle to a nephew and his g/f. All the details I know is that it's a little boy and he was born on June 16th.

Ok now I'm going to try and get a little bit of stitching done on my angel.

update

This last 2 weeks has been a bit of a trial for us with us all but Katie getting this nasty sickness bug then to top it all off Dave had a nasty seizure last weekend resulting in a first responder paramedic and an ambulance to be called to get him out of it. Luckily for us all he didn't need the extra medication to bring him out as just as the paramedic was going to give it to him he came around!
Friday saw us with a trip to A&E at our local hospital with Gemma. Katie had hit her knocking her little finger back to the point that she couldn't move it so off we went. We got there booked her in at reception for her to ask if she had already been booked in till she looked a little more closely at the date and realised that Gem had actually been taken a year ago to the date with a poorly arm!
All the xrays came back clear apart from it showed up something from an old injury that we didn't know about. When Gem was 2 she almost amputated her little finger on her left hand, she had fabric stitches to re-attach it and xrays which showed all was ok but as she was so young it didn't show that her finger was infact broken and is still now even though it has healed. All this resulted in a slightly deformed end of finger which is nothing serious!
Stitching wise I am still struggling to get any done. I have tried again this morning and I don't seem to be getting very far at all which is pulling me down. Some one give me my stitching mojo back plllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
On a very good note, Princess Sarah is going to be making a pit stop here tomorrow afternoon on her way home. We last saw each other in February so are looking forward to a catch up chat and hopefully lots of giggles. We will also get to meet 2 more of her children after meeting her youngest in February. Maybe Sarah coming might just help me stitch again

great stash day :-)

What a lovely day today has been. I received a belated birthday present from my good friend Princess (sparkly) sarah. She sent me Nora Corbett Ivy, Waxing Moon designs Stitching Mends the Soul and Simply Snowdays, 2 Six Strand Sweets threads, L&L celtic Autumn and a stitched piece that we did earlier in the year on my group, all this came along with such a beautiful card. Thank you hun, you really really made my day today!!

Last night y eldest daughter cut my hair. Normally i will just have a trim but last night i wanted something different and had it all chopped off to just above my shoulders. It feels loads better for having it done.

I have added in a new photo of my latest finish. It is a TIAG free angel from 1989. I didn't stitch her all because she is going to a home where the recipient isn't a stitcher and she likes her just the way she is. All i need to do now is 'finish' her into an ornament.

I have also started the 1997 freebie today but I haven't got too far with her. I am finding her a little hard to stitch as she is being done on darker fabric than i would normally use but that is ok the colours pop on this fabric and that is what i wanted to happen.

DMC bankrupt????

I hope not.

Check this link out for more info. http://tinyurl.com/3ffe8p

What will it mean for us crafters as alot of people rely on DMC to use their threads for hand dyeing threads for their businesses. What will it also mean for crafters in general?

I know alot of people already use Anchor (as i do sometimes myself) but DMC are the best make around.

Lets just hope its only a restructure and they do manage to continue with the needlecraft side of things.

RH update again

Here she is. the top photo wasnt as close as i would have liked her to be. the 2nd one is all of her.

weekend and monday

Well what a weekend. Its been a bad one for me depression wise. Things had got on top of me and all i did was cry for part of the weekend so hardly any stitching got done
Also my big pc has died over the last couple of weeks so we have bought new bits to partly build a new one and take out spares from the other one to make a good one out of the 2. The parts should be with us tomorrow which has made the kids day especially Richard as he has course work for his I.C.T course and business studies G.C.S.E's
Then today we were going to the Dr's like we had been doing last week also. So I went to get the car out of the garage, tried to start her and the battery is dead considering how its not been started for almost 4 weeks I'm not surprised its dead. So to top it all off we have had to buy a new battery charger as well to charge it up.
Anyway, back to the Dr's visit. We arrived at the Dr's to find the carpark full. Dave goes into the waiting room to find it very full. So we turned around and went to a garden center instead as a friend took us up there with my car being out of action.
As we went to the garden centre i picked up some decoupage sheets to make some birthday cards and Dave bought me a lovely silver dolphin ring as a treat
I have decided to try and go on a very low fat diet again after going on a fad of eat anything while i was pregnant. For those that know, i was told last year I have gall stones and i decided to manage it by diet instead of having surgery. So Princess sarah on SCS decided she is having a fat box to put in a pound for each pound of weight that she loses. I decided as I don't need to lose weight for the first time in my life that I will put 50p per day into a box to buy treasures/charms for my 2 protrait ladies. They are going to cost a staggering £86 without fabric and threads but they are going to be well worth it once I have them to start. It's going to take almost 6 months to save the money up BUT by then I am hoping to have RH done and work on another UFO as well. Not sure how well i will keep to that but we will see.
sorry for the long update. if you have gotten this far thank you for reading

Thank you

For all the comments that you all have been leaving on my blog over my WIP photos of Royal Holiday and what has been going on in my life recently. I do appreciate all the comments and people looking at my site you all keep encouraging me to keep on stitching on her hopefully till she is completed

Royal Holiday update

Here she is after working on her while the kids have been in school. It took me that long to get her face stitched. Just a shame my cell phone doesnt take a really good photo of her.

Now on to working on her hair

cold day

Its another cold day today here, I shall be glad when the warmer weather comes.

We have one of the kids home sick today so we are planning on sitting watching a couple of movies, bake some bread in my breadmaker, wash all the laundry and stitch on Royal Holiday as we have been out for the last few days and no stitching has been done on her at all.

Yesterday we went to Birmingham with a friend, we were quite close to Birmingham airport which I didn't realise till I saw an airplane coming in to land very very low which made me jump a little and shout out, all the others could do was laugh at me lol

I will update RH later on, I hope everyone stays warm and well

Saturday, 12 April 2008

another update

here she is again. I know its only been a few days since i updated but her progress is coming along so well I can't help but keep on updating her

Other stitching, i received my first installment of the globetrotter we are doing on another group. I charted the alphabet using a free chart online and stitched it up in a couple of hours so now i can get back to RH

I had another hospital visit yesterday and had closure over the miscarriage. We have been advised though to be referred back to the hospital to see a consultant that specialises in recurring miscarriages to see if there could be something else wrong with me or my hubby, something to do with the medication we are both taking or it could just possibly be - one of those things - a phrase that i really hate to use but I can't think of another phrase to use.

I hope every one is having a nice relaxing weekend. Look out for another update in a few days time.

Wednesday, 9 April 2008

royal holiday updated photo

Here she is. She is looking stunning more so in real life

Tuesday, 8 April 2008

9 April 2008

The kids went back to school 2 days ago and its been quite nice having the house back ourselves and for it to actually stay tidy!

I have been stitching on Royal Holiday again and can't seem to put her down so while I have the bug to stitch on her i will carry on with her. I don't have an updated pic yet will do that later on.

We are slowly getting better from the miscarriage, a bit hard to believe it was a week ago and the hospital visit too - we never want to go through that again!!! I am still finiding myself getting very tired very easily but I am back taking my multi vitamins and iron tablets to help me out those coupled with lots of rest and stitching makes quite a good combination i think

We are going out for lunch today with a really good friend, she hasnt been well that last couple of days and has cabin fever. She asked if we wanted to go out for lunch and we jumped at the chance. I can also replace the threads needed for RH as some have been misclaced or used

Will add in a new photo later on

happy stitching

what a week!

Its been an awful week with me miscarrying on Tuesday evening and then wednesday evening having to go into hospital as i was so ill. Thankfully i came home on Thursday afternoon feeling tired and lightheaded but so glad to be back home with DH and kids I have been resting loads since I got home and have done some stitching.

I have with help from Carol finished my first mini biscornu into a scissor fob for carol and have been working on Royal Holiday. I have added in photos of them on here in 2008 album and Work In Progress album if anyone would like to take a look.

We have woke today to a covering of snow, the most we have had in a long time. The kids are out there now making the most of their last day at home before returning to school tomorrow.

Saturday, 9 February 2008

february 10th general update

Not alot has been going on recently right up until the latter end of the week when we had a phone call from one of the kids schools asking us to go pick up one of the kids. Jamie had had someone jump on his back, put him in a headlock (wrestling) and knocked him to the ground where he fell on his arm. So we went down to the school to pick him up and check his arm over which seemed to be swollen but nothing majorly wrong.

We woke on thursday morning to see jamie in considerable pain with his arm that looked quite nasty. It had swollen up over night and was looking a funny colour so we took him up to A&E to our local hospital about 30 mins away from us. They x-rayed it and thankfully there is only soft tissue damage - a sprain and bruising which is going to take up to 3 weeks to heal properly.

Then on Friday our eldest daughter tells us her operation date has finally arrived for Monday 11th February TOMORROW!!! She is so scared rght now as she has received no information what so ever about what they are going to do to her. Its not a long complicated operation thank goodness just a small one to have a device fitted just underneath her skin and attached to her heart for up to a year. This is to record her heartbeat for up to a year to see if the Dr's can find out what is wrong with her heart.

On the best side to the kids half term holiday one of my online friends is coming to visit on Tuesday which is very exciting, we will get to talk craft stuff all the time she is here and hopefully for us both to learn new stuff off each other.

I am also quite excited about my stitching right now too. I had been having a hard time with my stitching for a few weeks and Sarah has asked if i would like to stitch a BAP with her. She wasn't bothered what we did, i asked if we could do L&L celtic autumn with different colours than charted and wearing a hood, its going to be a bit of a challenge for us but also fun too.

I am hoping to have a new finish in a day or so. It is a french freebie that i found. Its a Sillouhette of a lady that has been affectioanlly called Victoria. She is being stitched on some aida i got from sewandso last year and is being stitched in black.

Well thats all the news from me for this week, lets hope this coming week wll be uneventful.

Happy stitching

more new finishes

I have just added n new photos of this weeks stitching. I have done 3 more Sanman original freebie charts, 2 are the same one only different colours and I omitted the lettering on the side and bottom. And i have cheated again too, because they are stitched on white i didn't stitch the white bits hence me having so many finishes each week LOL

I have also managed to do a little bit of stitching on Fairy Moon (i will post and update on her tomorrow) and have started a RR, kitted up another RR apart from the threads that are missing which should arrive the early part of next week.

17 years ago today............

.............was my wedding day, my how time flies by so much. I was 18 yrs old when we married and some people said we wouldn't last 6 months, well how wrong they were!!!!

We have been through an awful lot of stuff in those 17 yrs but we have come through it on the other side smiling - thank goodness!

So here's to me and my hubby and for the next however many years we have together

what Tarot card are you?

http://www.flarn.com/~warlock/tarot/dragon/3.jpg">>

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

january 4th

Well thanks to Debi yesterday my stitching slump has now gone again. Debi sent me a freebie chart that i decided to kit up along with Ouroborus and last night i got it started and finished the border part of it.

This morning i have started the lettering. Am hoping to get it done in a couple of days so that i can move on to something else preferrably the dragon or i will work on one of the WIP/UFO's i have in my box

January 3rd - stitching slump :-(

Since finishing the passione ricamo sampler on New Years Eve i havent been able to find anything that has caught my eye to stitch to the point that everything i have looked at i have turned my nose up at including freebies, my UFO's which i went through yesterday and searching online for something that jumps out at me.

I don't really want to start another BAP but if that is what it takes then i might have to. If i do i think it will be a dragon. A nice big purple one called Ouroborus by Dracolair. You can see him http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=31917&ww=1 I might just get the threads later but convert them to anchor threads as i can get those in town and i already have some nice sparkly fabric to stitch him on

the weather has turned icy cold here again. We are forecast a really cold January and some parts of the country have been forecast temperatures of -17 which is really really cold for us. We have also been forecast snow for the next couple of days, can't see it amounting to much but if we get some before the kids go back to school they will love it especially chris

well whatever you are doing stay warm and safe
