another finish

This is another one of Carla's lovely kaleidescope snowflakes, this is number 3 and like number 2 is just a beautiful one to stitch up.

This is stitched on self dyed pick evenweave with DMC 3810 and SSS thread Concords which looks just great together.

I have my contest piece to do for Carla's group which I will work on tomorrow then next week when I can buy the rest of the kaleidescope flakes I will start another one of those.

We have survived the first week of school, though not without incident lol. Jamie just can't help himself in injuring himself in some way or other. He fell last night about 18 inces and twisted his ankle yet again, it swelled so we got him to R.I.C.E it and gave some painkillers, by this morning he was back to normal. I swear that child doesn't want to go school with all the injury's he has had recently.

I'm off now to take Sheba for a walk then I can get back to stitching again, not sure on what right now I am thinking of another snowy start of a SanMan Originals chart I have.

I am so gutted

Today I fancied stitching on Royal Holiday so went to look her out and I can't find her. I have hunted high and low for her and she is no where to be seen, its put me right off stitching.

I did find my Celtic Winter out and tried to stitch on her but thats not working either. I do have an old chart kitted up of a San Man Originals that I might try and stitch instead.

The kids have gone back to school today and the house is wayyyyyyyyyyyy too empty. I thought i would love having the house back to ourselves but in actual fact I hate it right now hark at me blathering on feeling sorry for myself, I will pick myself up by my bootatraps and find something to occupy myself till the kids come home from school.

end of the summer holidays

Today sees the last day of the summer holidays for the kids, its been a lovely day with warm sun which is set to last for the next few days which is just typical now the kids are going back to school. The last 7 weeks have flown by, though at the begining the 7th September seemed so far away! The seasons are changing though, you can smell it in the night air as silly as it sounds.

I havent stitched properly in a couple of days I have put in a few stitches on a bookmark but thats about it. Hopefully I can get some done tomorrow once the kids are in school

I am now going to start a snowflake design that Carla Rizzie has designed for her group Crazystitchers designs callked Kaleidescope Snowflake 2. I will add in a photo of that once it has been completed.

finished a project

A few weeks ago I joined a new group and the owner had designed a beautiful design called addicted to snow.

I started this a few weeks ago and at 11.58pm last night I put in the final stitches and I must say that it turned out beautiful! Now on to finishing it and then onto the next project not that I know what it is going to be right now though

yiipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Its now the summer holidays for the kids. They have all broken up from school for 7 weeks today. Sadly though the weather doesn't really seem to be co-operating It is wet, windy, cloudy, cold with more rain forecast for us. I know we shouldn't complain about it but now the kids have finished they could do with some nice weather to go out and play.
Katie has been to a theme park called Drayton Manor and the poor kid has been travel sick on the way there and back. She has enjoyed the park but has come home wet, cold, shivering and a sore throat from shouting on the rides lol.

Gemma has left primary school today to go to middle school in september. She cried at school this morning but when she came out she was fine which was probably due to going home with her friend from around the corner from where we live. She was asked to stop the night which she is more than happy to do. I just can't believe how grown up she is becoming at 9 years old already.
So after all this the drama's of the day were Dave has accidentally broken my laptop today, the vacuum cleaner dropped on the screen which has upset him greatly, then I was finishing off the hoovering when I sucked up the power supply cable to Dave's external hard drive after backing up mine and ruined the plastic outer casing - thank fully it still works ok lol and thirdly stace has broken her mobile phone overnight. I think it must have been Friday 13th in disguise lmao.
So after all that has happened today I am back to stitching on Sarah's late birthday surprise that isn't so much of a surprise after seeing it yesterday which will hopefully get completed over the weekend ready to send on to its rightful home.
This weekend sees me staying home all weekend which will be a first in a while, I am looking forward to being on the laptop (dave's of course), stitching and chatting away to my friends, just my sort of weekend
Now I have waffled on enough its time to grab something to eat and try and put a few stitches in.

It's been a while

Things seemed to have gotten a little out of hand here recently with ferrying the kids here there and everywhere. Stace is struggling to get to and from college so we are doing all we can to help her out. Richard has had his interview for going into 6th form college in September. The teacher was great and Richards results from his mock exams were fantastic with a distinction in I.C.T. A* in business studies and then the rest were all B's and C's and he needs 5 G.C.S.E's at a level C or above. The teacher was so pleased Richard was offered a place subject to his main exams starting in June.

Stitching wise Ivy is coming along lovely even though I haven't worked on her in a week as last weekend I decided to have a go at stitching a 15 sided biscornu which has now been stitched and has stitched up beautifully. It is going to a new home soon to sarahsparkles.

Today I am going to start a bookmark for an exchange on another forum, I will add photos when there is something to show for it.

It is a lovely bright sunny day but still chilly, dare we hope that spring is really on its way??? The spring bulbs are starting to grow and bloom, the hedges are starting to bud and the wildlife are starting their spring nest building, all good signs I hope?

A week ago I was asked to join another yahoo group ESC (every stitch counts) and I must say that I have been made to feel very welcome indeed, now I need to get my group back up and moving as it has slowed down somewhat.

Have a good weekend and happy stitching xx

good stitching day but also sad day

I decided I would work on my groups globetrotters over this weekend to get them done and sent on their way seeing as I had had them in my possession for way too long! So I got myself sorted out and sat on the sofa ready to stitch. I found a small pattern I wanted to stitch and away I went. first one got stitched and then I made a start on the 2nd and boy did that 2nd one stitch up really quickly lol.

Well I am happy to report that both globetrotters are stitched up ready to have photos taken before being packaged up and sent on to their owner.

The sad news is we have lost another of our furbabies (rabbit). she had gotten too cold outside and was just lying in her hutch doing nothing so we bought her inside to warm her up to see if she would respond. Well things weren't looking too good then she started to warm up and move around in the box but she twisted around and got stuck and broke her neck whilst lying in the box warming up, she was only nearly 3 yrs old, just have to break the news to the younger kiddies in the morning at least she now is at rest and not suffering any more

second christmas jan 21

What a day we had yesterday, Princess Sarah came for a visit to exchange our christmas gifts with each other. She arrived here at 11 am after a 2 1/2 hour journey.

We exchanged gifts as soon as she got through the front door as we were both excited to see what each other had got and yes we do sound like little children but we couldn't help ourselves.

Sarah bought me a snowman ornament that you plug into your pc and it changes colour, a Lavender Wings chart called Jingles, Chuckles, Snowball and twitch, a Me to You necklace with 2 halvesof a pendant one saying best, the other friends. Of course I shared with her. Sarah had also stitched me a beautiful snowman ornament with wind chimes hanging from the bottom which will be on show all year round I will add photos later on to my album on here.

We then took our stitching out, Pesky pair for sarah and Ivy for me and had a good few hours worth of stitching time before the kids got home from school. It was the best time I had had stitching since the new year started and I actually enjoyed stitching for the first time thirs year

3.30 we picked Gem and Chris up from school were poor sarah had her ear bent off for the next 4 1/2 hours from Gem and Chris talking almost non-stop till bedtime lol. We managed a little more stitching before Sarah had to leave to go home back to her hubby and kiddies at 9pm. We had a text message at 11.30 to say that Sarah had arrived safely back home again and thanking us for a great day.

bad stitching start to 2009

I picked up Mother and Baby yesterday thinking that while the kids are still home from school I could make loads of progress on it only to find that I had made a mistake, so I frogged and put it right, well lo and behold a little while later I find yet another mistake, so I put that right and decide to put it away for the night.
I get up this morning to find that darned frog has been visiting again so back to ripping out again. Right now it is 10.15 and all is back to normal with it again. I think what has got to me a little is that I have been working on this project on and off for over a year and I hadn't had to frog AT ALL at any part of it apart from this one part. I just hope the frog now stays away till this is finished.
Sorry for the rant, just needed to get it off my chest I think lol
